Design Brief: Create livery and supporting elements for a new bus that would stand out from existing services
The final design used a mix of photography and graphic elements that gave the bus a unique feel as well as advertising it’s route, which we felt important as a new service.

Project: Switch Off campaign
Design Brief: Poster design to highlight the key areas for the campaign
Last christmas the Department for Sustainability decided to implement a campaign to remind staff to turn off their computers over the christmas break. They approached Green Hat and asked us to produce a series of posters to remind University staff to switch off, before the shut down – but the message is broader than that and applies to us all, whether at work or in the home.

Work produced includes "Water" usage poster, “Calling Hall Students” sign-up flyer/posters for freshers week, and the “Flick the Switch” campaign which used contemporary illustrations to show the main energy saving tips to students.

Sustrans is the UK’s leading sustainable transport charity. Their vision is a world in which people choose to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment. The square format Annual Review for Sustrans, together with bilingual version for Welsh audience, details everything Sustrans have achieved over the year.

Project: Rising to the challenge
Design Brief: To produce a 28pp Annual Review with an additional pull out section to promote Quartet’s ‘Grassroots Endowment Challenge’
Quartet recently won a Grassroots Funding Bid in which the government have pledged a £1 million endowment gift to the West of England, if Quartet can raise £2 million in donations by 31st March 2011. Our design, using illustrative graphics and case studies, was a response to this pledge and promoted the challenge to Quartet’s fund holders.

Project: Picturing China Project
Design Brief: To produce marketing literature for the touring exhibition
John Swire and Sons worked closely with the Historical Studies department at the University of Bristol to produce an exhibition of archival photographs of pre-communist China. All the literature was printed in two colours, black and gold, to be reminiscent of the era.

Design Brief: To manage the St Monica Trust brand and design all of their marketing literature

Project: Staff survey branding
Design Brief: To create branding and communication literature to promote the University’s staff survey
The staff survey brand itself was based on the three parts of the survey, to ‘ask, listen and act’. The communication literature was then divided into three key areas: Pre-survey included posters promoting the forth coming survey, a DL leaflet attached to all staff pay packets notified them of the start of the online survey, and finally two reports were commissioned for design once the information had been collated.

From logo design, digital media, photography and everything inbetween, Green Hat have been involved in promoting and marketing HEaTED from the very beginning. Through newsletters and regular updates on the website, HEaTED's comunication with its members is pivital to their ongoing success.
