Design Brief: To develop and update the existing logo.
A new identity for St Monica Trust, a leading provider of retirement living and continuing care for older people in the South West. The new identity encapsulates the story behind the charity’s origins. The idea to build a ‘home of rest’was conceived in the rose garden of the Wills family home in 1911. At the heart of this rose garden stood a sundial engraved with the Wills’ family motto: ‘Tempus Fugit, Caritas Manet’ (time flies, love remains). It was decided to represent the sundial as a woodcut; to maintain the link with the Trust’s principles and evoke a sense of tradition, whilst the strong lines will enable the design to work well in all media.
